I think that it’s about time to let you know about my experiment. A number of ideas need to be pointed out. First, many christians claim that if atheist read the Word we would understand and become christians. Part of this experiment is to see if that’s true. Since I have read the entire bible twice while in the Oahu and Hilo Church of Chirst, I have my doubts. Second, this is an experiment to see what the effects of writing a blog like this creates. Will it only attract the extremes, or will it create an open dialog about religion. I wonder if all I get are the christian extremists who hate everything I write, or will it only be atheist where all I’m doing is “preaching” to the choir. I hope that this site will let both christians and atheist see things from a new perspective. Finally, I want to have a record of my observations about the Word as I slowly read through the whole thing.

I have finished reading the Book of Genesis. I have made a list of the 69 posts that I have created during the process of reading Genesis on this page. The experience has been an eye-opener to me. The last time I read this book I was under the “god bias”, this time reading the same verses without that bias (true I now have a different bias) has been an amazing experience.
I hope that this experiment will be helpful to both Christians and Atheist alike. I believe that this “Holy Book” is at the core to the problem with communication between the two groups. I would like the Christians out there to see what an Atheist sees when reading the Bible. I hope at the same time that the Atheist can get a better picture of what really is written in the Word.
Both Atheist and Christians relay heavily on just skimming the verses of the Bible. I certainly have. Most Atheist come from a Christian background and have studied the Bible heavily in the hopes that it will answer the nagging questions that everyone has in the back of their minds about religion. Most of those “ex-christians” did not find the answers in the Bible. Most of those same people never read the Bible again after leaving religion behind.
I believe that the lack of direct exposure to the Bible is a major problem for both the Christian and the Atheist. Using only a selection of verses does great evil to the overall understanding and communication between both groups. The TrueChristiansTM use only the verse that suit their personal needs as Susan B Anthony once said:
“I distrust those you know so well what god wants them to do because I notice it always coincides with their own desires.”
We all have bias, in my case it is one that leans towards the fact that YHWH is missing, both in his Word and in the World. In this project I am reading the entire Bible and will provide what I see as I read each verse and chapter. While reading the Book of Genesis I noticed that YHWH did not show up much, but the people of the biblical stories attributed much to him. I will continue to point out how both YHWH and his Word are not as inerrant as the “god bias” makes him out to be.

This section will be the location of my website's basic information. Things like why I choose the NIV Bible. I will also discuss any outstanding issues of my writing style or topics. Questions asked to me frequently will be moved to the page.
